Conceptualised, designed and produced by Lumina in collaboration with the Palace of Versailles in 2018, “Virtually Versailles” was borne out of a vision to promote the French culture, heritage and expertise of the Palace to audiences in Asia.
Since its inaugural edition in Singapore (2018), the immersive fully digital exhibition has toured to 4 more cities – Shanghai (2021), Hong Kong (2023), Macau (2023) and Hangzhou (2024). Each edition stays true to its concept, with nuances to reflect the host city. Macau is home to the only Karl Lagerfeld Hotel. Lumina conceptualised and produced, with the support of the Karl Lagerfeld Estate, a room dedicated to the fashion legend and his admiration for the Palace.
This virtual exploration embodies the use of digital technology to view the masterpieces on display. Visitors are immersed in the grandeur and splendours of the Palace of Versailles, and its rich history through the innovative and interactive tools specially developed for this exhibition.
